Project Description:
Expand Appalachia CORE-CM (EXPAND APP) project is to provide the foundational data, assessment methodologies, and implementation plans needed to catalyze economic growth and job creation by realizing the full potential value of the region’s natural resources, specifically including unconventional sources of critical minerals and metals as well as nonfuel carbonbased products.
Project Objectives:
- Expand the scale and scope of CORE-CM assessments within Region 2 including ME, NH, VT, and NY
- Formulate strategies to integrate infrastructure, industries, and businesses to spur economic growth using CMM and CO resources and waste streams
- Develop and implement plans for stakeholder outreach and education
- Prepare and begin implementation of a workforce development plan for training the next generation for securing domestic CMM production
- Develop plans for technology innovation centers
- Participate in working groups
- Collaborate and coordinate with adjacent region
- Develop datasets to develop a nationwide prospectus on critical minerals
